This week on The Free Cheese, two surprises! Ben is playing Joy-con spread eagle from here on out, Marc breaks into the asylum to save us all, and Joe is selling crystal jelly. We talk about what remains after Game of the Year is over, announce the winner of the Reader's Choice Game of the Year, and use the holiday week to play some honest video games. We also talk about Flash game preservation, games that aren't coming to Switch, and how many Bloodborne sequels FromSoftware is working on. This week on The Free Cheese, surprise! There was a bit too much news before we rolled into Game of the Year for us to ignore so we came together to capture our thoughts surrounding console sales, lawsuits, fake console nightmares, changes to Artifact, and exciting news for Halo Infinite. This week on The Free Cheese, what does the start button do? With Matt and Ben away, Marc and Joe gather round the podcast table for the last episode before Game of the Year podcasts are recorded. We talk about where Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has taken us and what we're really enjoying. Then we talk a bit about Gris, a new game from Nomada Studio that leaves an impact in the short amount of time we spent with it. We also talk about the latest update to Fire Emblem Heroes and how we're starting to understand the game a little more. Finally, we hear about new ways to wire up a GameCube controller, find out when we can play as 2B in SoulCalibur VI, hear how Discord plans to shake up the digital market next year, and outline the list of games featured at EVO Japan 2019. |

This week on The Free Cheese, everybody's here! In case you weren't aware, there's a new game in the Super Smash Bros. franchise and we're pretty excited about it. We detail the game's Adventure mode and highlight some of the things we've discovered on our respective journeys. We highlight new characters and talk about the changes made to the ones we love. Additionally, we talk a bit about Artifact and Hitman 2 and how they both add to the conversations we'll be having in a few short weeks. We learn about new video games that were announced at The Game Awards and talk about other news—like which rapper is reselling garbage with a different name on it this week. This week on The Free Cheese, we revert our drivers. Like every great video game podcast, we start off talking about what to do with a two-dollar box of glass: break it. Matt finished up his adventures out west just in time to spread some cards out three ways and take out the Ancient. Marc leaves behind yesterday's travels to deliver a message across time and space. Ben takes out a champion before almost taking out his graphics card. Joe pretends to be the drummer in a band while a statue falls in just the right way. We also talk about the launch of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and what we expect from The Game Awards. We hear about the latest patch to Mario Tennis Aces and which famed 2D developer is helping to bring home Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
