Marc returns to the basics and enjoys some Super Smash Bros. for his birthday, and tells us a bit about his trip to New York where he visited the Nintendo World Store. 

This week, Marc asks the question, "Why do we play video games?" We try to get to the root of the question and discover what draws us to play video games over something else and where we see ourselves with games in the years to follow.

We went to the arcade and played some of gaming's greatest games, and we fill in the week with our usual Super Smash Bros. sessions.

Joe explores a bit more of EarthBound Beginnings, slowly begins to understand Splatoon, and continues to wonder why Warner Bros. hates Arkham Knight.

Joe and Marc are joined by a very special guest, Joe's nephew Jake, to talk all about Rocket League. Since we last met, Marc wakes up inside of the Wii U eShop to find himself inside the world of F-Zero. Jake rides elephants and blows stuff up in Far Cry 4, and Joe really doesn't like #DRIVECLUB.

The common thread in this week's show is our love for the recently released Rocket League. We had known about the game for some time, but its debut this week has us hooked. We've already completed (and were crowned champions of) our first season, and we're trying to learn how to make cars fly.

We also discuss the best games from this year so far, as well as this month's pick for our monthly game club.

Marc makes a serious investment but still can't paint the world. Kyle is annoyed with the recording schedule. Joe still loves Arkham Knight, even after the grueling endgame.

We determine which cheese is the best cheese, although Kyle is still wrong. 

We discuss the difficulty of reviewing a game based on something you love, and then we talk about comic books and comic book movies for a while as a little bonus at the end.
